Screen a trading idea.
Describe it in plain English. AI turns it into exact rules, and our engine tests them on any of 46 futures markets, against years of real market data. Your first verdict is free.
On the screen, as the page scrolls: 01, Describe the idea: The Waypoint Quant screener: an empty research desk inviting a trading idea in plain words. 02, The desk writes the specification: The research desk turning “Nasdaq at 10:00 when the tape and breadth agree, 1 ATR stop, 3 ATR target” into an exact specification, read back for approval. 03, The verdict: The report of a real screen: NQ, order flow and breadth agreeing at 10:00, verdict Candidate — $20,868 a year per contract against a $28,957 maximum drawdown over 875 trades — with the desk’s read and the equity curve.

The gate stack
An idea earns its place on your chart one gate at a time.
Each gate is written down before the run, so a pass means exactly what it says. The report names every gate and the one that decided the verdict.
Candidates that pass, per 1,000
Select a gate above to see its checks again.
Illustration: the shape of a run of 1,000 candidates through the seven gates a screen runs. Where it ends is the ledger’s own pass rate, 1 in 187.
The ledger
Most of what we measure does not survive.
Every idea that reaches us is written down as an exact specification and run through the same gates, and every verdict goes into one ledger whether it passed or not. The ledger is public and it is free to search.
The desk
Describe it the way you would to a colleague.
Name the market, what fires the entry, what confirms it, how wide the stop. The desk turns it into the specification the screen accepts, reads it back for you to approve, and runs it. The verdict and the gate that decided it arrive in the same conversation.

ExampleNQ on 5-minute bars: buy when the 9 EMA crosses above the 21 EMA while price is above VWAP, between 10:00 and 11:30. Stop one ATR away, target 2R, and trail it 1.5 ATR once it is 1R up. Out by 15:55.
Read it back, then run it
- NQ (E-mini Nasdaq 100) futures.
- 5-minute bars, anchored at the session open.
- Regular trading hours (RTH), 09:30–16:00 ET.
- The rules read these series:
- The 9-bar EMA of the close.
- The 21-bar EMA of the close.
- The session VWAP: the volume-weighted average price of hlc3 since the session open; anchored at the session, by default.
- One rule: long.
- Go long when, at a bar's close, all of these hold:
- The 9-bar EMA of the close crosses above the 21-bar EMA of the close.
- The close is above the session VWAP.
- The bar closes between 10:00 and 11:30 ET, both included.
- Buy at the next bar's open (a market order); a signal at the session's last bar is skipped.
- Stop 1 × the signal bar's ATR(14) below the fill; R is this distance.
- Target 2 R above the fill, a resting limit that fills only on a one-tick trade-through.
- Once open profit reaches 1 R, trail the stop 1.5 × the current ATR(14) behind the highest high since the fill (default); it is updated at each bar close, applies from the next bar and only tightens.
- No cap on trades a session; one position at a time.
- Never held overnight: every position is closed by the session's end.
- Exit at 15:55 ET: at the close of the last bar ending at or before 15:55, or at the session's last bar when it closes earlier.
- Costs: the market's round-trip cost and stop slippage from the engine's table.
Faint lines are defaults the desk filled in.

A real report
The verdict says whether. The numbers say why.
On paper it made $4,475 a year per contract. It is still dead: its worst drawdown was $85,942, and 5 of its 9 years lost money. A report that stopped at the first number would have sold it to you.
The free screen returns the first card: the verdict and the gate that decided it. A plan returns the rest — dollars a year and drawdown per contract, the year-by-year record, every gate’s figure and every trade. Upgrade after your free screen and they open on the report you already have; nothing runs again.

The verdict is free. The numbers are less than one bad trade.
